COMMENTS PEOPLE HAVE SENT US
It has taken me a long
time to recover and tiredness and memory lapses hinder
me. I would have to admit that there have also been psychological
issues.

I am 53 and contracted meningococcal
septicaemia in April 2003. I am one of the lucky ones and
survived without any visible effects of the disease, although
I am still experiencing other symptoms like headaches,
expressive difficulties and slow processing skills.

The only side effect I seem to have
at this stage is loss of mobility in my ankles, and no
one seems to know when or if I'll ever regain full mobility
in them.

I am a 24 year old female living in
Brisbane. I have struggled over the last 2 years with my
general health and although I don't remember much about
what I went through, the little bits I do remember are
frightening, I also want to understand more about what
I went through and what my family and friends went through,
as they won't speak about it much.

We have been at the doctor's again tonight,
Bryce is suffering headaches, and badly blocked ears and
nose. I think his immune system is still very low and he
gets a lot of sore throats and colds, the doctor said that
a letter had come from Queensland Health regarding his
hearing. They say there has been some loss.
