MISSION STATEMENT
- To create greater public awareness and education of meningococcal
disease.
- To highlight the importance of early diagnosis.
- To foster education on how the disease is spread and
what precautions you can take to protect yourself.
- To highlight that meningococcal septicaemia and meningococcal
meningitis are two separate forms of meningococcal disease
with differing symptoms.
- To create a greater public awareness of the early signs
of meningococcal disease and the importance of early diagnosis
and treatment.
- To actively work towards establishing education programs
in schools, day-care and public institutions.
- To disseminate information through the use of educational
brochures, posters, video and multimedia.
- To lobby local, state and federal government for funding
into vaccination research and education programs.
- To provide support for families who have lost a loved
one to meningococcal disease.
- To provide direct support for families who endure ongoing
treatment.
- To dispel mistruths about those who have suffered meningococcal
disease.
- To encourage government agencies to offer better support
for victims and their families.
- To offer assistance wherever possible to victims and
their families.
The foundation will also undertake the necessary fundraising
activities to ensure that we are able to provide all the
above.
